My great-grandmother’s name was Mae Gabbard and she was born abt 1903 in Arkansas but her family came from Kentucky before that, she died in California in 1986. I was always told she was full blood Cherokee and am trying to find out about her life and history.

Her parents may have been Ivean V. Gabbard and Ida Isabelle Davis. Ivean parents were, Isaac H. Gabbard and Druscilla Hornsby. Ida’s parents were Jarrett Wiley Davis and Mary Lamiza Martin, BIRTH 18 OCTOBER 1835 • Tennessee, USA and DEATH 1915 • Madison County, Arkansas, USA.
