I am looking for information on Quatie Payne, and her daughter Elizabeth Angeline (Nunisa) Payne Adams of North Carolina. Quatie was a full blood Cherokee born in Painttown, North Carolina. Quatie was born near “Hanging Dog Creek” and was said to be a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee. I would like to find information on both and to estabilish a number if they were on the rolls.

I too am looking for information on Quatie ( Indian name) Payne, and her daughter Elizabeth Angeline (Nunisa) Payne Adams of North Carolina born abt 1799. Quatie was a full blood Cherokee born in Painttown, North Carolina. Quatie was born near “Hanging Dog Creek” and was said to be a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee. Quatie would be my x5 great grandmother. The information I am finding, is that Quatie passed prior to the birth of Elizabeth. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
