Married William Collinsworth, born 1812 in Carolina died 1880 in Florida. I am told she was a full blooded Cherokee, but can find no evidence she was buried in Westville Fla.

The documentation is a bit thin as far as confirming parentage (clearly listed on a will or death cert), but there is strong indication that Rachel’s parents were Hezekiah Tolbert Sr. (1773–1856) and Catherine Bass (1790–1850). This is based on several elements: Rachel’s known maiden surname and location where she lived and was married. Also, the movements of Hezekiah and Catherine shows they moved to Pike County, AL in the 1830s, same time as William and Rachel. Finally, one of Rachel and Williams’ kids was named Hezekiah. A lot of elements come together to at least indicate this connection.
Hezekiah’s father was a Revolutionary War veteran from Rowan Co. NC. These lines had moved into Montgomery County, NC in the late 1700s. That is where Rachel and William met. One of

The allied families then moved into Alabama when those lands were opened up to White settlement, after tribes were forcefully removed from the 1820s-1830s. They were White homesteaders.

this is the family i have as ggreatmother on my mothers side, was told by my surviving uncle that she was buried in cemetery at westville fla. . He said that she was a full bloodied Cherokee, he also said that he and his dad kept their grave cleaned around as long as my grand dad (Tom or Thomas Collinsworth ) was able to do so.. i am looking for info to verify this.. Tom’s dad was ELI Collinsworth.
