I am seeking to find out information about my 4th-great grandmother whose name is in the title. She is believed to have been born in Virginia circa 1750 and married a white man, William Johnson. The couple had a daughter, Sarah Silvey (Johnson) and Sinoke is believed to have died in Wilkes County, NC in 1819. I have seen her listed in the Emigration Rolls and descendants in the Guion Miller Rolls, but would love to know more about her immediate family if that is even possible.

Hello, In response to Sinoke Arzelia Raby. I just found out today that she is a 5th gen. descendant to me. according to one of my cousins, that have been doing the research. She was a Native American Queen.. I have an extremely large family settling in the Southeastern region of Tennessee. Our great grandfather was Robert E L Stewart and Verdie Jane Taylor. I would also love to learn more about our connections, and her role of royalty?

Hello! I just found out that Sinoke was my 6th great grandmother! I hope we can find more info on her! My family is also from the south east. A lot of my family settled in Tellico Plains. Me and my mother are currently doing research on our families history. My family is Thomas. And going further back my 6th great grandfather was Sinokes Husband, William Johnson. Her daughter, Sarah Johnson married Aaron Thomas.
Crazy that we may be distant relatives!

She is also my grandmother, I am from Rabun Co. And I was born Thomas. I lived in Tennessee twice. The first time was more middle, Murfreesboro. I was not aware of the Thomas surname there. However, when we moved to the Cookeville, Baxter area I became very aware of the many Thomas’ here stretching all the way to Monroe Co. I am so excited to be connected to my Tennessee Thomas’, but timid just the same. It’s over whelming to finally find out what happened to all the rest of the family. I am decended from Elisha Thomas, Thomas Callaway Thomas, Julius Thomas.

Well, there is no such thing as a Native American Queen. She was just a woman. Cherokees did not have Kings or Queens. They frankly didn’t have a Principle Chief either until the European Countries insisted on communicating with a single person.
Either way, You can find out about her lineage here: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/GH2Z-2X4
It is unknown whether she was “Full Blood” Cherokee. But that, too, is a concept that is European. With a last name (at all) let alone “Raby”, she probably had a European Father.
But being Cherokee in the 1700’s was more about culture and nationality and not race. That’s normal for most nations (with the exception of Nazi Germany where race was a requirement.) It is a European mentality that tracks things like Blood Quantum and race in determining Indian Heritage. Sadly, this is because Indians (like blacks) were not considered fully human by Europeans. To them, it made sense to track how much of the Indian “sub-species” someone had in them. #sad.

Finally, it is nice to meet you, cousin (though distant) Best of luck in discovering your heritage!

I am surname Angel. The link you provided is not permitted in my current location outside of the USA.
I am trying to complete a family tree. I knew that I am related to Sinoke through the Angel/Thomas line. However I am also getting information that brings Johnson/Silvey in on my mothers side also. This winds up recently on the Honeycutt/Biddix line. Which I also knew there was Cherokee there as my grandmother took me as very young boy to church on Cherokee and camping on the Toe River where we would sit by the fire and she would call animals in and send them away.
Do you have any other way to access the genealogical information besides the link you have already given?
Thanks
DNA matches seem to confirm this
