Sperry

Trying to find family or information for my 3rd great grandmother, Mary Jane Sperry. Stories from my great grandfather talk about going with his mother to the reservation in Oklahoma to visit family. His mother was Cora Etta Speir, her mother was Mary Jane Sperry. I can’t find much on her at all. Have tracked down who I think may be Mary Jane’s father – Vincent Sperry. All parts of that family were in the Southern IL/Western KY area. Not sure if they were Cherokee or not but general US history indicates they may have been. And the fact that I can’t find anything for them before 1850 also tells me this may be true, or at least that they were Native American.
