I am looking for any information regarding Cherokee surname “Cherry”

This is not a surname associated with any enumerated Cherokee families, on the historic rolls. In other words, it is not a Cherokee family name. It could only be associated with tribal members who were born after these rolls were closed, and it would probably represent a surname of non-Cherokee origin coming into the community via an out-marriage scenario. This could be 1907 and later for western bands, and 1925 and later for Eastern Band. Or, the only other likely possibility could be that a Cherokee had left the tribal communities and did not maintain their tribal affiliation and were never enumerated on the main rolls (and they or their descendants married into a family with this surname).
