Looking to find proof of Cherokee ancestry. Known, Malford (Black) Ward born 1852 Van Buren County, Ark. son of William A Ward b 1817, census data says both North and South Carolina. Married Nancy Jane Holderfield 13 Dec 1837 Tennessee, lived in Anderson Tenn 1840 and Perry, Tenn 1850 census. William A’s parents said to be Michael and Nancy Ward from North Carolina. Believe his birth w/in 10 years + or – 1770.
