My grandmother’s name was Paula? Holbrook she lived in Hollywood, GA. I was told she is the great, great granddaughter of Chief Grey Eagle of the Ga. Cherokee Clan. We were long hairs. I so want to know my heritage.

Osiyo (hello in Cherokee) April. My name is Justin. First of all, I had happened on this page and noticed that you are trying to receive helpful information on your family Cherokee heritage and just like all Native Americans from all across North America, Central America and South America, we as a Cherokee people, we have one of the most beautiful, if not, the most beautiful history, language, culture, traditions, roots, ways of life, religion and practices of anywhere worldwide. Over 10,000 years ago, one of the first Native Americans traveled by canoe from the South Pacific Islands to South America in what is now the southern point in Chile, Brazil and Argentina, which is where our Cherokee people originated from long ago, our Cherokee people originated from South America before heading up north through Central America, Canada and on up into Alaska before heading down southeast and settling into what is now Ontario, Canada and upper state New York as Iroquois in the year 1,000, but because of fighting and war against each other, our Cherokee people separated from the Iroquois Nation in 1500 and moved down south into what was our homeland (old Cherokee Nation) before the “Trail of Tears) of 1838-1839. Second of all, let me tell you that you start tracing your family Genealogy through documentations like I did about 4 years ago. May I suggest that the best family genealogy site for you and anyone else to trace your family genealogy and document everything is MyHeritage.com ($24/month), but as you do your family genealogy research and study, may I also point out that it is a good idea as you research, to google and research your findings to see if the documented records match up and for Cherokee families like you and I, also with your family genealogy research and study, the other best sites to go to is Oklahoma Historical Society and CherokeeRoots.com to see if your are listed on the Dawes Rolls. My friend, I have done all of these things myself for between 4 and 5 years and I have found so of my family on the Dawes Rolls and I have also found that many of my families have died on the “Trail of Tears “. Between my parents, I am three quarter Cherokee (75%), my father is full blood Cherokee and my mother is half Cherokee.
