Yellow Bear

I am trying to find the names of the family of Yellow Bear. He was awarded 640 Acres in the Treaty of 1819, and is on the Cherokee Reservation Rolls. One of his daughters was my fourth great grandmother, but the name I was given through my family connections is not correct. The family records lists her name as Yona, but that is a male name, and I found a Yonnah in the same treaty records. Where would I be able to find the names of the members of his household to see if there was just a misspelling of her name, or if it is something totally different. She married a man by the name of William Henry “Will” Mason in Tennessee, and died there in 1840

    • I too have traced my roots back to this blood line through my father which surprises me. I would have guessed it would be on my mothers side.

  2. I was so happy o see your transcriptions from the Register of Persons Who Wish Reservations Under th Treaty of July 8, 1817. My ancestor is on that list, and I am wondering if you have the entire list, or can give me more information, I have his name and the location of his reservation in Alabama, but you have added information in blue that I don’t have. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it so much.
